"Everyone hang tight and practice those calls," Zac shouted as he followed the Minior. The little guy was still drifting from side to side, but something told Zac that it was moving with purpose. "Where are we heading mate?" He asked, but the rock didn't reply, it just floated onwards into the darkening grassland.
What's with all the Minior acting weird lately?

Through the fields, and up into the rocky foothills. They were nearing Mt. Pyre now, and the ground was littered with little chunks of volcanic stone. Trees and greenery faded away, and Zac's grassy footprints shrunk until they were just a tiny trail of sprouts leading higher and higher up the rocks. "Where are you taking me mate?" Zac asked the Minior.
It just floated on. Upwards.
They reached a thin plateau, and cold light cut through the growing dark. Huddled in the shadow on the growing mountain was another Minior, its shell cracked. Weak blue light bled out from within.

The blue light from the cracked Minior was too weak. It pulsed, like a heartbeat, growing fainter.
Zac rushed over to it and pulled at the plants nearby to- there were no plants nearby. "We've gotta get you back down the mountain mate," Zac said, scooping up the blue rock. With the red Minior in tow he rushed back down the mountainside, stumbling and scrambling over the rocky scree. The light in Zac's looked around frantically, searching for plants to draw on as the light in his arms grew dimmer and dimmer.
"Stay with me mate, we're almost there," huffed Zac, as he jumped over a boulder, legs shuddering as he landed on the other side.
A thin line of green streamed into him, as some unseen shrub wilted nearby, shriveling to dust. Zac pushed the light into the Minior, and its weak blue started to thicken, becoming more of an aquamarine. "There you go mate. I've got you."
Relieved, Zac continued down the mountainside, pulling more life from the trees until the Minior in his arms healed over, hiding its light under a fresh shell of rock.
A Ponyta, attracted by the light, joined their growing glowing group, and the four of them returned to the catching tour.

Zac found the group right where he had left them. They were still practicing their Oricorio calls, and some of the group were getting quite good.
"Nice work everyone! With calls like that you just might-" Zac stopped. There was an Oricorio in the middle of the group dancing and singing. He hadn't even noticed. He'd just thught it was one of the group.
"Looks like you really picked up the finer details while I was gone!" He said, looking around the group. "Who already has four captures for the day?" He asked, and most of the group put up their hands. Gabe tossed a ball at the dancing Oricorio. "That's four for me too Zac."

"That's great Gabe!" Zac said, just as enthusiastic as the boy was about his first catching-spree. Around them the glow of Spring sunset was starting to fade, and a slight chill hung in the air. It seemed a little colder than usual tonight.
"Okay everyone! Back to the Warden's hut. It's getting dark and we have to be back before 7, but some of you still have a ball or two left over." The group started milling about, taking last sips of water before the walk back to the entrance. "Everyone make groups of four, and if anyone sees any Pokemon let your group know. Eight eyes are better than two, yeah? We'll see if we can't get everyone full up by the time we reach the hut."

They reached the hut after fifteen minutes of noisy walking. "I caught a Happiny!" Joyce said, bragging loudly to her walking group. They rolled their eyes. "Remember everyone that if you don't want any of the Pokemon you caught today you can always trade them, or hand them in at the entrance for a discount on your pass next time."
There were some words of acknowledgement from the group, but on the whole everyone seemed happy with their new companions. As the group filtered out of the safari zone, Zac went to talk to the warden. "Hey Walt, have you had any reports of weird celestial activity lately?" Zac asked, speaking softly. The warden leaned across the ticket desk, chewing on a pencil. His gray moustache wiggled like an ancient Caterpie. "Like what? It was full moon was last week." He said, applying the customer service tactic of slipping in any info related to the customer's keywords.
"Nah not the moon. Well, maybe. There have been an awful lot of Minior around here lately. Falling from the sky though, not just floating around like usual."
Walk nodded slowly, his eyes shifting to watch the group that was slowly trickling out of the main gate. "Bye Mr Ramsay! Thank you!" called Gabe, getting into his mom's van. "Night Gabe!" Zac called, turning back to Walt.
"Yeah," said the warden. His voice was different now. Low. Conspiratorial. "Yeah I think I've seen something like that." He ducked out from behind the counter and started to roll the shutter doors closed. "Gimme five to lock up and I'll show you."
